What To Do If Your Child Is Absent or Late
Please call the school (304-286-3111) ANYTIME your child is going to be late or absent. We must have an excuse from the Dr. in order for it to be counted; we only take five parent excuses per semester. You May also e-mail the information or fax (304-286-3112) to the school secretary, Mrs. Tanner, as well.
What To Do If You Need To Pick Up Your Child During School Hours.
Please come to the office and sign your child out on the appropriate sign-out sheet. We will then notify your child's Teacher that you are there to pick up your child.
Breakfast Students receiving breakfast may come to the cafeteria at 7:30 a.m. Breakfast Prices: Full Pay: $.60 Reduce .30 Adult 2.50 Available Every Day: Assorted Milk and Juice Assorted Cereal and Fruit
Family income criteria are calculated annually by the National School Lunch and Breakfast programs of the federal government. Families with children in district schools who qualify for reduced-price meals are notified by their schools and receive applications. Applications available at all principals' offices and can be made or changed at any time during the school year if an eligible family experiences an increase in family size.
Lunch Elementary Lunch Prices: Full Pay: $.75 Reduced .40 Adult 3.25 All milk: $.30
Monthly menus are sent home or can be accessed by going to the Big Otter Elementary School site.
Tardies Any student who arrives after 8:00 a.m. is considered tardy and needs to sign in with the school secretary, and get a tardy slip to go to class. (School begins at 8:00 a.m.)
Early Dismissals A parent who wishes to take a child home early from school must come to the office and sign him/her out through the secretary. A child cannot sign him/herself out.
Visitors All visitors must report to the office, sign in and obtain a visitor's pass.
After School After School is taught 4 days a week from 3:15 to 6:15, children are given a snack and then have homework help and then play fun and enriching games that help with their learning abilities. Parent permission slips must be on file.
